Rachel Michele Teana Reeves is a journalist whose paternal heritage derives from the island of Atiu.
Rachel was born and raised in California and moved to Rarotonga when she was 21, after earning a Bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of California Santa Barbara. She has worked as a reporter and columnist for Cook Islands News and is a regular contributor to Escape Magazine.
Rachel was commissioned in February 2014, when she was 25 years old, to research and write this book in seven months. It is her first book.
